Krista Minotti Schauer, AIA

KRISTA MINOTTI SCHAUER, AIA, sole proprietor of KMS Architecture, was aware of the spirit of place before she could put words to it. Growing up in the South, juxtaposed with summers in Europe and New England, further nurtured by an artistic mother and a paternal legacy of builders, Krista developed a longing to create soulful places. After earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree with a double minor in Interior Design and Art from Auburn University, she moved to Washington, DC where she currently practices her craft focusing on residential architecture and custom interiors. With an emphasis on the collaborative process, her work gives careful consideration to its physical, intellectual and emotional qualities, creating a holistic and soulful vessel of simplicity, elegance and comfort. Past project locations include Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and the Bahamas. Krista currently lives in Chevy Chase, DC with her husband and three sons.
